GTX 560 TI 2gb, benckmark test

Tried the benchmark scene in the demo suite. Using direct lighting only and letting it run the whole 16000 samples. I got 9:34 mins. I'm not sure if this is fast though.

Didn't touch anything just open the file and let it render.

What about the mega samples?
I will post my gtx 560 results at the end of the month so we can compare :)

Mega samples running at 12 to 13++. I don't know if that is normal but it fluctuates between those numbers.

Hehehe, my question now is how do I activate the second 560 card if I want to render a final scene and use both cards? Do you know by any chance how to do it?

Hi, you need the CUDA 3.0 version of octane to have multi gpu performance.
Setup in File/Account Preferences/Cuda Devices

Cheers mib

Thanks again MIb. YUp I did that but when I get to the preferences. I can't seem to figure out how to make the second card active.

In the preferences panel, click the add button next to your second gpu, it will have (1) next to it.

Thanks Radiance, I figured it out already. I was trying to add the card while my file was opened that's why I couldn't add it. :).

My GTX460 runs at 5.7/5.9 Megasamples per sec.

so the 560TI is roughly double the output of the 460GTX.It has a slightly faster speed on the core, however that means the 560TI, which has 384 Cuda cores on the GF114 GPU to the 460's 336 Cores on the GF104 GPU roughly translates to double the speed !

It looks certainly a better bet for Octane on a value for money basis than the old 460.

Time to upgrade i guess.

Please tuts3d, can you post a sceen-capture of the benchmark test with one and two 560 for both direct-lighting and path-tracing during calculation?
