you can use the Prime free license.
OctaneX PR7 Big Sur 11.2 Free Prime plugins are available at OTOY shop page, for:
They are limited to max 1x GPU, and it requires Big Sur 11.2 with an AMD GPU or Intel SkyLake GPU.
Apple M1 GPU support is considered beta/experimental at this stage, and it is still working under Rosetta 2 in Big Sur.
All OctaneX plugins are not working at the moment on M1 Apple Macs, only OctaneX Standalone is working with M1 chip.
You need to download and install Standalone Octane X version from Apple App Store for Big Sur, compatible with M1 chip:

Then visit the following link to accept the software agreement, and to activate the free Prime license:https://render.otoy.com/shop/primex.php
To test it, please install and open Standalone, right click anywhere in the node graph panel, and choose Materials/Metallic, to create the material node.
Now right click on the node and choose Render.
Then please share a screenshot of the Standalone interface thanks.
If you see the Material Ball scene, everything is working correctly.
Here you can find some simple example scenes:http://render.otoy.com/downloads/Octane ... oSuite.zip
At the moment, you need to esport your scene from plugin to Standalone in .obj, .fbx, or .abc file format, and edit the scene directly in Standalone.
Here are some video tutorials about Standalone usage:viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7566
