Is it possible to render out any animation via Unreal Engine cameras, or export the camera animation as part of an ORBX?

If you mean support for sequencer, we are working on it.

Hi Chris,

Was this added to Octane for UE4? I've been trying to export out sequencer/camera track to ORBX but in Octane Standalone it is only showing the very first frame of the track. Any advice?

Thanks,
Tim

Yes, you can do both. Just render the video as ORBX scene from the Sequencer tab like you are rendering an Unreal video.

Thank you EvolverInteractive!!! I somehow didn't see the ORBX option in there while I was checking so I never went back. You've saved me so much work!!

Hey Guys,

I gave the above a go as I've been trying to export sequencer to Octane. It started up as though it was rendering, so showed a screen to show the frame but then it failed. So these here are my settings, just to show what I've done, and yes I know the resolution is small but it's just while I'm testing: https://i.imgur.com/BY8K2kJ.png
The Octane Settings I never touched and left it as ALEMBIC as I can see you can also pick GBX. Of course gave it a file path to save and I only need a few frames for this so set it to the frame I want. But, it fails. So as you can see from these shots it captures: https://i.imgur.com/glk6r6B.png and then eventually fails: https://i.imgur.com/oSJqtdh.png
Now I know when you close a project that you've had Octane running off you get a Crash report but I know Chris H you are aware of that and I don't bother with it....but in this case would it help with the failing of exporting the sequencer file?

Thanks

@sheralondunn

You need to use Octane Image export to render those frames. What you did was create an ORBX file that you can then upload or render in the standalone.

When you export to ORBX with the sequencer, it will export one ORBX file. This ORBX file will contain the whole scene (meshes, textures, etc) for the selected frames.
The ORBX can then be rendered out in octane standalone or ORC or RNDR.
So your filename should be "OctaneTestorbx", not "OctaneTestorbx.{frame}". As there will only be one orbx file as an output.
You can check in the folder you specified if the ORBX has been created. Please notify me if it hasnt been created.

If you want to render to image (png, exr, etc) directly from unreal engine, you need to select a different Image Output Format. I suspect you want "Octane Render (Image)".
