Random loss of focus

I seem to be losing focus on random sections of a design visualization animation, and I can't figure out why. Using Unity 2018.1 in standard 3D mode, Cinemachine & Timeline. The PBR Render Target depth of field is set to auto focus, and I believe all the settings are pretty much default. No post processing. It mostly happens for 10-20 frames at a time when there are things in the foreground, but not even all that close - like 20-30 feet from the camera. Is there a fix for this?
Hi,
since the auto-focus "sensor" is in the center of the image, it could happen that you loose the focus, if there is not some geometry in the center at the desired distance. You can disable the auto-focus option, and use the Focal picker in Octane viewport to interactively define the focal distance plane.
