It would be excellent if the standalone interface could be implemented. At least the ability to have the nodegraph editor. Maybe some kind of connection between standalone and maya so that a new element wouldn't even be needed? Similar to how HDR light studio works.
I own the plugin but haven't used it after testing since I find it slows down my overall workflow. The main things that keep me from utilizing it are:
material setup (after using the node editor in octane, its way more robust and easier to change multiple materials) I have used maxwell in maya in the past and found their system to be a little more usable. Especially when importing from their library since you can assign a bunch of materials arbitrarily, then open the library in the attribute editor for that material and change it.
Scene setup is also way faster/more flexible in standalone.
If these are things that are already present, I am all ears (or reading eyes) and would love to learn about it.
