LocalDB material import crashes Maya?

I'm working in the latest stable plugin and engine and when I try to import a material from the LocalDB it immediately crashes maya. This happened on previous versions too. Is this a common/known issue or just something buggy and a localized issue?

Well last time I checked Local DB was still buggy as hell with the Maya plugin,
it was only usable if you make sure your materials use only old legacy Octane nodes,
because recent nodes support (post V3) was just not implement....
So I'm not sure your issue is the same or a new bug,
I just gave up on this for advanced materials and prefer to use ORBXmaterial, copy pasting nodes from standalone live/local DB...

I can't reproduce it. Could you please attach here the ORBX files of the materials you are trying to import from your LocalDB folder (the ones that crash on your side)?

really ? this is very simple to reproduce.
Here any material other than diffuse, specular, glossy crash Maya 2019.2/plugin15.12
and even the legacy materials have errors when they are imported...
defaultUniversalMaterial.orbx
(4.74 KiB) Downloaded 217 times

groupMetallicThinFilm.orbx
(3.34 KiB) Downloaded 215 times

Please implement an option to import any local DB item as an ORBXmaterial (not just for the script nodes)
This would be a quick way to solve the issue for sure without any limitations, crash and errors.

Sorry I haven't got a sample uploaded yet but I see calus chimed in.

I saw an update to the plugin go out, did that fix the issue? I can upload the material if you still need.

I haven't used localDB in years so I didn't know what the status of it is.

Yes, crash is fixed and some errors are gone but still some issues :
For example Layered Materials and Toon Materials are still not supported ...

Also preparing materials for Maya in Standalone is still way too tedious
as you need to put them in a group with material output before LocalDB, else they are ignored in Maya...(workflow breaker)
