Otoy® is proud to announce the availability of a new test version of OctaneRender™ for Maya®: OctaneRender™ 2020.1
The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 64-bit on Windows, Linux and OSX operating systems.

To use this version, you need a GPU of compute model 3.0 or higher. Support for Fermi GPUs (like GTX 4xx and 5xx) has been dropped. Also make sure you use a driver of version 387 or higher and if you are working on Mac OS that have a CUDA driver installed that supports at least CUDA 9.1.

Changelog and the installers for Octane Standalone 2020.1 are here:
OctaneRender Standalone 2020.1 RC2

Changes since versions 17.11:
  • Implemented the modular approach: now the plugin is automatically installed as a module and can be switched between versions using .mod files tuned by users. The default octane.mod file is installed into Maya's "modules" folder automatically, now this is the only file placed by plugin's autoinstallers inside Maya's installation folder-tree. Switching using .mod files is supported only between this 17.12 and later versions. Now Octane for Maya can be installed in different versions and different flavours (VR, VRE, Demo) at the same time, and switched by .mod files for some specific Maya versions.
  • Fixed PhoenixFD particles' positions sometimes wrong in some scenes.
KNOWN ISSUES:
  • "CUDA error 700" and other CUDA errors are expected to happen from time to time: these are the Octane engine's bugs. Should be fixed with later SDK/Standalone versions...
  • Due to some inconsistency on the rendering engine level the builtin-scriptgraph nodes are not going to be present in the plugin. At least at this stage.

Noticed a lot of problems with the sliders in attribute editor for materials in this build. For example you move the slider for specular and suddenly form 0.2 it goes to 19062.938 for example. Also if you type 0.1 it defaults to 100.00.

I can't reproduce it. All works OK for me.
Do you have the same issues in 17.11 too?
Just in case - try to remove all the previous 17.11 plugin's files and, re-install 17.12 after that...

Literally happens with every slider and attribute (specular, roughnes, etc...). I am using Maya 2020.1

Removed all other installations and did not happen in previous version but on previous version I was using Maya 2019.

Looks like It's something wrong with your Maya 2020 installation... Try to clean its preferences folder...
It works without any problems for me:

Weird, going down from 2020.1 to 2020 fixed the problem. Thanks for your effort!

Just FYI - I've tested it in both 2020 and 2020.1 - both work with no problems.
