Basically when I launch IPR the image is very bright, then I restart the IPR and it goes back to normal exposure. It's another annoying bug like "not enough memory.." when I start IPR for the first time from the ROPs list and not just by clicking the "play" icon.

I haven't come across this one, is it just the 2024.1 builds?
Does this happen with simple or heavy scenes?

Happens with medium size scenes. 2024 yea. It's either overexposed completely, or only highlights are weird.
Also one more thing, "Exploration strength" doesn't seem to do anything in "Photon Tracing" mode. IDK if it's supposed to be that way

Thanks for reporting that, yes indeed it isn't updating in Houdini - we will look into it!

Please refer to a PM I sent you regarding your Denoise crashes and something to try/test. Thanks :)

IPR updates are broken?
If I turn off all the IPR updates it seems like updates are still happening when I move on the timeline. If I turn off updates only camera and object transformations should change that are very fast and that isn't the case. So something is definitely off here

This is a very minor UI bug and I'm sure there are plenty of other more important issues to focus on, but I thought I'd mention so it can be added to the bottom of the polishing list.. The toolbar in the QT5 IPR window on Mac is 3x the height that it is on PC and ends up eating a lot of room on a laptop screen. I can turn off the toolbar, but then I can't trigger the actions. In this regard it would also be great if the toolbar items could be added somehow to the Hotkey menu in Houdini so we could set up keyboard shortcuts for the IPR functionality.

Thanks!

Hey there,

did anybody already inform about the bug with analytic lights in combination with sss and refraction looking wrong? If I use one, it looks correct but with the second added the one with less samples gets way brighter, especially in specular reflections. If I increase the samples of that one, it starts looking correct but then the other one gets that issue.

I'm currently working on an unreleased product, so can't share the scene, so I'm double checking if someone has posted this, otherwise I'll try and make a demo scene for it.

Cheers

Oh and I wanted to ask if there's any news on the bug I reported a while ago, that analytic lights always reflect like a diffuse material and it can't be turned of, like with other lights?

Hi, can you give me a basic sample scene / images to showcase the issue? as for the other issue that is logged in the system for standalone and I have a feeling this other issue you have may also be a core issue.
You can double check by exporting your scene to Standalone and see if the Analytic + SSS behaves correctly there or not.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.
