High Displacement OSX

The high displacement on 31.6 is still quite buggy on Mac OSX. The viewport freezes a lot especially with 16k textures. You constantly have to toogle render mode on and off in the viewport to make the render active again.
Any help appreciated.

Can you please share a scene showing the issue?
We need to understand if this is a specific OSX problem or a more general one.

Out of curiosity, how much ram do you have in your system?
How many 16K maps are you using?
About the upload link, a good solution would be SwissTransfer .

Hi Lino,
I am testing OctaneBlender Addon 2026.2 - 31.6 Beta Release right now and it felt much more stable right off the bat.
i will keep on testing and will report in a couple of days.

I have tested the High Displacement Setting on OSX 31.7 Blender Addon. PBR Textures work but the noise is super unreliable. It freezes quite reproducably after a few seconds.
I have created a very simple scene. Lowering the 3D Transform Scale to 0.001 pushes it quickly over the edge. Changing rendered Mode to Solid and Back makes the viewport usable again for a few seconds.

Just tested 31.8. It did not fix that issue for me on OSX.
