Hello all,

when I use the bump map channel from a Material I have some Weird artifacts in the texture.
I use Octane 2024.1.2 R4 and Cinema 4D 2024.

Regards,

Jochen

For anyone to answer and possibly provide a solution, more information is necessary.
It's also difficult to decipher the rendered image due to the crop and pixelization this close.
The "artifacts" are reminiscent to image compression algorithms.

- what's the mesh it is applied to? (can the mesh topology be causing such issue, as well as its scale)
- what's the file format and is has it ever been converted? (is it overly compressed, lossy)
- what's the material setup? (the less nodes, the less complications)
- what are the complete render settings? (unlikely to be the root cause but always welcomed)

In addition to the report-guidelines recommendations.

I see this artifacts also in the Ocane Live Viewer window.

Hi,
probably you need to highly reduce the "Bump Height" value to match the geometry scale.
Please note that the "Bump Height" value works in meters.
