Hello! sorry to plug myself here but I have the same problem for the demo version for cinema 4D R24, i followed the process of creating a plugins folder in the app and copy pasting the only useful items but it doesn't load when I open cinema 4D. I have found on a forum that I could tick the box "opens with Rosetta" but it didn't work neither... I have a mac book pro M3 with these specs:
Chipset Model: Apple M3 Max
Type: GPU
Bus: Built-In
Total Number of Cores: 40
Vendor: Apple (0x106b)
Metal Support: Metal 3
So I guess it should be working, could you please let me know how to solve this? Thank you

Navigate to the OctaneRender Demo page to download the latest demo version compatible with Cinema 4D 2025.

Hi,
you don't need the Demo version for macOS Apple Silicon, since you can install the full free Prime version for C4D 2025:
https://render.otoy.com/plugindownloads ... 01_OSX.zip
But please, you MUST disable the "Open with Rosetta" option, or plugin cannot be loaded, since it is native for Apple Silicon.
ciao,
Beppe

Did you ensure that the correct version of Octane for Cinema 4D 2025 is downloaded? Sometimes, plugins are version-specific, so it’s important to make sure the demo version is compatible with your Cinema 4D version.

Place the entire Octane plugin folder into the plugins directory, then enable it under Edit > Preferences > Plugins and restart Cinema 4D.
Block Blast
No, please, avoid to do that, or you end up having conflicts.
It is enough to just place the OctaneRender folder in correct "plugins" folder!
Please never go to Edit > Preferences > Plugins for OctaneRender, this is the wrong way of installing it.

I'm having the same issue with the C4D 2025 demo, I can't install it because the download doesn't appear. Do you know if I can use the demo in 2025?

Hi,
if under Mac, please make sure to have
disabled the "Open using Rosetta" option in the Info panel of the Cinema 4D.ap.

Hey there,
I ran into the same issue a while back with a newer version of Cinema 4D. Make sure you’re using the correct version of the Octane demo that matches the Cinema 4D 2025 build—sometimes older plugin versions just won’t load in the latest C4D. Also double-check that you’re pasting the plugin into the right folder (Maxon updated the plugins path in recent versions). If nothing shows up, try running C4D as administrator or look in the Extensions menu to see if Octane is hiding there.
Hope this helps!
