Hey Octane fam
In this build I am really enjoying with the power leverage octane has for extremely highpoly scenarios ... but there are few bugs that some of them are essential to resolve:
First and most important : when I switch to see some render pass there is no option to return beauty pass, we have HDR and LDR tone mapping which randomly doesn't work and in big scenes makes houdini crash and when it works resets the ipr ... I need to close ipr and open it again to see beauty
Render passes dont work on ipr some times. ie I added zdepth in this scene and it does not show up
this one is old but in main houdini ui in shopnet render target we dont have the Photon Mapping kernel, I unlock the asset and plug it manually to work where I need caustics.

Thanks for taking the time to report. Which Houdini and Octane version are you running? Please see the following comments.

The HDR and LDR options were intended for the cryptomatte AOVs, so that you can see what is being affected correctly. There is definitely a beauty pass AOV you can select again please see attached.

See the attached, Photon mapping is available and working. Please confirm which version you are running - are you using a custom HDA perhaps? Try deleting the plugin folder and copying a fresh one unzipped from our releases.

Ok I see you were talking about shopnet, SHOPS are depreciated as far as I know we only support the Material network for materials and RT etc.

Thanks Ricky, learned a lot here, is there any video tutorial for compacted guideline on this limitations in one page, in a way that suggests best way to use Octane in Houdini ?
My Houdini is 19.5.805 and im using Octane 2024.1 production build

No problem! Unfortunately, we do not have a quick-start guide at the moment or a short overview on the plugin.
Even though the docs are a little out of date, it can still help with a lot of info, including showing the Render Target info.

It is a little outdated, will see about getting it updated once some of the other changes and additions are sorted.
