1. The material does not show when added to an object. Rendering needs to be restarted in order to material show in render view. This happens in 28.5 nonaddon.
2. Shading type does not change in render view. In order to make it work you need to go to edit mode and go back. This happens in 28.5 nonaddon and addon.

Also when you disconnect a Material node from the Output node or delete the Material node, the preview rendering doesn't update. This happens in the 28.5 addon version (I can't check it in the non-addon one).

I have the same update problem with 28.5 AND 28.4 and the according Blender Versions.
I wanted to get into Octane for Blender but this is a huge bummer and showstopper for me. Wich is the latest working version then? Thanks for any advise.

Another preview update issue when using modifiers. When toggling "Realtime" modifier the render preview does not update.

Looks like these issues are fixed in nonaddon version 28.6
