Hi,
I wonder can anyone explain whats happening to my render. Im getting a dark 'box' on the LV and the PV. This happens when im using network rendering, it doesnt happen when using only local machine.
Since it started I have updated octane, c4d and drivers. It happens in all kernals. I tried new scenes but same result.
Octane 2022.1R6
C4D 2023
local machine - 2 x 3080
slave - 4 x 1080
Cheers!
AK

well, interestingly, removing the Ai light options, solves the issue. But I have no idea why! The scene itself is a closed in 'interior' scene, but if that was a factor, i would assume
the entire render would be the same still?

Hi,
what happens if you disable the "Minimize Net Traffic" option in Kernel panel, instead of AI Light?

Hi Beppe,
Yes, with Ai light re activated and minimize net traffic un checked, the issue also goes away. Im not sure what the net traffic switch does, but am I to guess that the issue is caused by network speed? I recently installed a 10G card so I could access our server on the 10G network, the machine takes its internet and, I think, the link to the slave from the 1G network.

Hi,
yes, it is related to network interface speed, and in general, the option should be enabled if you have slow or different network interface speeds, and disable if the network interface speed is good and the same, between Workstation and Render-Nodes.
Maybe your Render-Node works at 10Gbit too
ciao,
Beppe

ok, thank you Beppe. Unfortunately the render node (4 x 1080s) only has a 1G ethernet card and no room for expansion, although im still trying to figure that out, I can make 3D stuff but my IT skills are lacking!
Thank you for your help
