Hey guys
Need some help here.
I exported a Persp cam from Maya as an ABC
Aperture and aperture edge is at Zero

But the image has a slight blur to it.

When I use the standanlone focus picker it is sharper.

Any ideas.

On a complicated and simple scene.

Trying to get this rendered out so any help would be appreciated.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for the post.
Just wondering if it may be related to *Auto Focus* enabled or Maya Unit conversion in OFM!

Would you please PM the scene for us to look at?

Cheers

Sure here is a real simplified version you can see depth blur is in the final octane file.
Any help appreciated as I have to render this bad boy out

Im stumped
In Maya al my Apeture Setttings are at zero and my motion blur settings are at zero
I export the ABC Cam and in my Stanadalone Render Target my Animation settings have motion blur at 0%

But if I hook a thin lens camera up and use the focus picker it is sharer than the ABC Cam
(They are not the exact same position... as the thin lens is just estimated... it has some apeture on it but it is much crisper)

HELP... any ideas

Thanks

OK it seems the focus picker is overriding the camera in some way.
If I pick a any frames focus then go to a different frame it keeps the focus pick from the last frame "picked"

Shouldn't the ABC CAM zero Aperture override that...?

Hi Peter,

Thank you so much for sharing the scene. It is very helpful

We found the RenderView Selection action (Radio button) is set to *Pick Focus* meaning the selection region is active.
While we are still checking, would you please try setting it to none and see if it fixes?

Cheers

Hi Peter,

No worries, its under Rendersettings dialog>Octane>under Additional Rollout or can do from the IPR RenderView window!
Please let us know if that helps!

cheers

Both on the demo scene I sent and my scene it is set to none.
So I don't think it is that.

If when you opened the demo scene I sent it was set to pick focus then it defaulted to what some settings you may have. Mine was none.

Thanks

Hi Peter,

Thank you so much for the update!

Jim has suggested this issue is related to our engine's normal precision restriction(limitation).
Would you please try adjusting the scene scale as a workaround and see if it fixes?

cheers
