Import fbx from 3dsmax

Hi,
I'm very new to Blender forum, so Hi everybody !
I try to export from max to blender meshes. Works fine.
If I apply simple materials in max ( glossy with a color ) I keep it in Blender. It is nice !
But when I add a texture map, Blender can't import it ( I need to hard quit Blender ). That is not cool.
Anybody have an idea ? Thanks

Hi,

It seems to not be Octane relevant?
I do not think the OTOY forum is intended to be used outside Octane scope, perhaps from time to time, exceptions can be made.

I do not understand the texture map part.

I would highly suggest to export an Alembic from any 3D DCC to any other 3D DCC. FBX and OBJ are best to avoid, especially in Blender3d where loading times can be excessively high, among other known issues.

Hi elsksa.
Thanks for answer. I was wondering if octane render can read octane materials from one software to the other via fbx.
For material without texture it works, but when I add a texture map in a diffuse slot for exemple, I can't even import the mesh in Blender.
Octane render or Blender fault ? I don't know. ( in addition I'm french so my english is what it is, sorry)

Hi, sorry for late answer...
As a newbie in Blender, I certainly make a lot a mistakes.
"image search" unchecked (fbx import) is a solution of my problem.
As soon I have a problem I'll return to you :-)
