Hi Elvissuperstar007,
Octane Universal material is designed to follow after the workflow in the PBR model, since the Metallic material falls short of the Metallic and Roughness maps that are often derived from Substance Painter and other tools. It handles dielectric material (Diffuse and Glossy BRDF) and also Metallic material (Glossy BRDF) with assumed IOR or custom IOR for both dielectric and metallic surfaces.

i don't use Planetary Environment
I have an animation with a planet, which is unrealistic to do with a planet inside octane
this is geometry with customized materials, you need a function that only shines in the dark

Hi Elvissuperstar007,
maybe you could try using a mix textures node with a night and day texture and an animated gradient in amount.
