With Nvidia GTX 750M, you can use Octane CUDA Mac, but only under High Sierra 10.13.6, since Nvidia has stopped to support CUDA after that Mac Os version.
Please also note that GTX 750M performs only ~9 in Octanebench, while we suggest a minimum of ~45 for a smooth experience:

In addition, the internal GPU is already heavily tasked by system and monitor, leaving only few MB of VRAM for rendering.
So you should need to enable the Out-of-core option in Octane preferences to move part of the scene from VRAM to system RAM.
You lose another 20% or rendering power, but you should be able to render very basic scenes.
On the other side, if you add a recent AMD GPU in an eGPU Thunderbolt 3 box with adapter for Thunderbolt 2, you can use the Nvidia GPU for monitor/system, and use the AMD GPU for rendering only, with decent speed.
Here are some preliminary results of the currently supported AMD GPUs under Big Sur 11.1:
- Radeon Pro Vega II Duo - 446 OB*
- Radeon Pro Vega II - 223 OB
- Radeon VII - 214 OB
- 5700 XT - 184 OB
- Vega FE - ~174 OB
- Vega 64 -~160 OB
- Vega 56 - ~126 OB
- Vega 48 - 117 OB
- 5600M - 117 OB
- 5500M - 83 OB
- Vega 20 - ~55 OB
- Intel iris 640 - ~ 17
- Intel iris 630 - ~ 15
Happy Mac GPU rendering,
