If I create a simple scene with a single light there is non existing (no object in Object manager) environment lighting the scene. How to remove it without adding OctaneSky and setting its power to 0?
Another issue with it is when Changing environments visibility to Off in Object manager a default non existing environment lights the scene.

You can change the default environment color in Octane Setting > Setting > Env

Yes, note that it's a scene specific parameter, saved to the scene. And will not change on a different PC

Just add a Texture Environment and set the color to black (or whatever you would like). That overrides the internal environment setting and will be more reliable for farm rendering. Don't ask me how I know that...

It would be easier if there was no default hidden environment, fortunately you can set a hidden environment to black and save it as a default C4D scene.

It's a personal choice! You can't know which one is better. Not easy to make a decision. It's pinned years ago even without having blender plugin. C4d plugin is pioneer for most of features

If you want to make it easy for us why not to make it a global switch so users can decide to have it on or off?
Most options are made that way. Why this is different?

Every option will make it more complicated. It's the opposite of what I wish for this plugin: Keeping it as simple as can be.
Also, this way perfectly fits to the logic of standalone if you know to use it. There's no logic as you wish. Always have an environment with a texture.

And what is the difference between a global switch and creating a Texture Environment? They are both a click away and would do pretty much the same thing.
