Hi Rene.
Just unplug the instance ID seed node and it'll work.
Here is my setup, works no problem on all instanced cars and it's NOT changing colors after reload.

NOPE! this is not th reason.
Shaun Lee Bishop Update: on FB 30 min before
It's not a Lightwave bug.
I recreated the scene with LW native render & after a Layout re-start the colours are 100% the same.
Yet with Octane, the colours shift.
Going to test the standalone next...

Hi Lewis,
the real REASON is that Octane change the colors after every restart from LightWave if the Instances had a Hirarchy or the instanced Object had more as one layer!
btw
the following Octane Versions do that. (V4 and 2019 tested)

Have you tried what my screen shows?
My cars have 7-9 layers (wheels and lights separated for anims).

Hi,
Ok. I'll check it out, but this only can mean that LightWave is not creating the instances in the same order each time you load the scene. The plugin has nothing to do with the order of the instances. It adds the instances as it receives them from the LW SDK. I suppose that the order of the instances is what defines the Octane random color ID, so if it changes it is because somehow the instances are not created or sent to the LW SDK in the same order each time the Layout loads the scene.
Thanks,
-Juanjo

Hi
Yes i understand. We test it also with LW Native Renderer an there after restart LW and re:render the colors are the same and its not changin...only the Octane plug in do that...so i am confused.

Hi Lewis.
here you can download the testscene.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/26lyd9sbdjana ... cyjjxif2EE
Shaun explain it here
"I have sent in a test scene that shows the bug. It fails every time
My scene is just boxes & other low-res objects with layers & random colours.
Juanjo is looking at it.
You will only see this bug when:
1) You have layers on your instances.
2) You have to close & restart Layout."
hope it helps for your understanding
