Static Meshes, Replicators, Instances and Modo render cache

I am working with static meshes in order to reduce file size (heavy vegetation). What is the preferred workflow with static meshes in regard to Octane 2018.1.3? It seems like the replicators using static meshes render fine but the static meshes (and their instances) do not render themselves.

Hi. Static meshes and their instances are rendering fine for me on the latest version of the plugin. I suggest turning the Render Cache off. You can also export a static mesh to an ORBX file, and then assign the .ORBX file as a Modo Mesh Octane Proxy..

Paul, what advantage does render cache afford? I know that allows Modo proxy items to render but what else?

The Render Cache offers some benefits for rendering hair, but other than that, it is recommended to have the Render Cache off.
