Hello guys. Long time octane user here, decided to get further and build my own 4GPU setup. Been looking this trough a lot and I think everything is compatible and logical, but if by any chance you see something I missed it would be amazing if you could let me know Also if you feel interested by this I could post photos of the build, it should be pretty beautiful Nice day to you .

Just curious, but what info were you basing your choice of a 1000W PSU on? Was that just a guess or did someone in Octane forums suggest 1000W for four GPUs somewhere?

If you are in Europe, Asia, etc, get a Super Flower Leadex Titanium 1600W.. if you are in North America, get the EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 T2 80+ TITANIUM, which is the same (rebranded OEM for EVGA). Even if 1600W is waaay more juice than four 1080Ti GPUs are asking for, this is definitely the PSU you want. And hey, if you are only using around 1000W-1200W at full load, maybe the fan would never even spin up on this bad-boy...

actually full system usage with older OctaneRender version would be around 1000W, but new version utilize GPus a bit better and thus power usage rise a bit.

7GPU (1080ti + six core) system with overclock on both CPU and GPUs sips around 1400W from the wall, so technically 1600W unit could easily handle bigger system than 4GPUs without a glitch.

However, if You look at efficiency curve (that You can find on official pages) of most PSUs, the You'll notice that those are usually most efficient at around 50%. Forcing PSU to go on the edge not only shortens life span and degrade it internal component, but also might effect ripple suppression and other thing negatively, so technically speaking it's worth to unit twice as big as You "actually need".

Amzn has the SuperNOVA 1600 T2 right now for an astonishingly low $245!! And the 1600 P2 for $179!!!
