How can I render mattes for materials that use poly selectio

I have a model with several materials applied using poly selections. I don't need a matte for the entire model, just two of the materials. Is it possible to kick out mattes this way?

Thanks for the reply! I'm a little confused with the technique you linked to. The object tag sees the object as a whole, while I need mattes for different textures assigned with poly selections on the same object.

Hi,
sorry, my fault, didn’t read too carefully.
In this case, a solution is to create a take with all diffuse materials, and assign a glossy with Index 8 to the poly selection, then use the Material passes like Material Reflection,mor IOR, to obtain the mask:
You can use different IOR settings to obtain more than one gray selection.

Hi,
did something change here n the last releases? Is it possible to make a multipass mask from poly selections?

You mean MatID? BW masks are a bit easier to handle. More clean sometimes.

for Polygon Selection mask, you can use the CryptoMaterialPinName pass:
