Object colour ID

As an alternative to rendering lots of Render Layer Masks using Octane Object tags with different IDs (which takes extra time to render). I have set different colours in the object colour box in the tag and selected object layer colour in the render passes.
It works fine with 'resend only updated objects' selected in geometry engine in main. see attached example.
However, my render does not look right. I need to have Resend all scene data (deprecated) selected for my render to look good. But with this selected the object colour ID only shows one of the colours and not the others. see other example. I cant think why this would be doing this. is there a way round this?
