Fog and Dust - How?

Hey there, I've been using a DAZ for a while now but there still doesn't appear to be any decent way to add particles like dust etc. I was rather hoping Octane might have a facility for that but it appears not. Can anyone point me in the direction of how one can have fog in DAZ. I've seen people have it in their artwork so I know its possible.

One way is to use a volume material on a primitive or or other object and have those item placed in front of a camera. In one the the octane updates you can now set this up in the environment tab. I did this with a giant cube and a material from the live DB

I've heard of this method .. as I understand it the camera has to be outside of the cube but anything you want to see with the volume is inside the cube? I take it if I type in 'Volume' I'll get a material called something like this. And does one just use opacity to change the density? I'm not very good at using the nodes yet ... in fact all I know how to do with nodes is to fuck everything up

.. So i tend to leave them alone.

Simply use the "Medium" node in the Environment tab.
This will produce fog, similar to what you have in that screenshot there.
You need a strong light source to produce god rays like that (e.g. the Daylight Environment's sun) control the Density and the Radius via the sliders to achieve your desired result.
The "camera-outside-a-cube-volume"-method has become obsolete with introduction of the Medium node in the Environment tab.

Ya if you need fog for your whole seen definitely use the settings in the environment tab now. I have another example if you need a more controlled look. Here I used cube primitive and stretched it across the ground and used some other flat planes for the rising fog.
