Emission with x-particles

Hello everyone,
I'm having a really tough time wrapping my head around how to get my x-particles properly textured for octane.
I have a scene with x-particles with a xpTrail. I want to texturize that stream and so I added the octane object tag to it. Clicked render as hair and then added an Octane diffuse material. So far so good.
However, I want those trails to generate light. So I give it some emission but to no effect. No change at all. Any ideas I can try?

Thanks so much,
Rick

Just tick 'surface brightness' in the emission node ;)

Best,
Guy

Could you please post a scene, so let's see what you try to do?

It's in the thread that has been linked above.

not sure, which version that link is related to but emission on trails and/or splines seems to work in 3.08.3
Image

it does not in octane4-versions (not tried it in standalone though, only within cinema).
is that something that's gonna work someday or is this feature somehow "cancelled" in v4?

Link the trails to xpSplineMesher - there the emission will work - no more need for the hair tag
