Version 4 - XB2.1 (Test release)

Hi All,
This is very quick test/preview release of plugin which is based on V4-XB2.1 SDK. We recommend that you mention that it is experimental, they should not use it for production work, and that we cannot guarantee backward compatibility.

Important notes:
Since XB2 Preview, we have dropped support for Fermi cards.
Network render is still disabled.
Denoiser does not denoise volumes or hairs yet.
Denoiser is under Camera Imager from Settings or Camera Tags. Just denoised beauty pass is available in plugin, others will be added.


Addons for plugin side
- Viewport rendering: Activate from Live Viewer/Octane dialog options menu. Keep open the one of these windows during the render session.
- Node Editor: Experimental float sliders on nodes. Need to activate from "settings->nodes->embedded gui".
- Node Editor: Show/hide options for node pins.
- New help system, updated manual(it's still wip). Access by help icons from nodes/etc..
- Several minor fixes.

Requirements:
-You'll need to update your Cinema 4D to latest versions(R16.050, R17.053, R18.057, R19.053). Otherwise the plugin will not work and not appear in menus.
-Internet connection for activation, be sure that C4D and Octane will not be blocked by firewall and any antivirus software.
-Updated Nvidia drivers(most recents like 39x.x) with Cuda 9.1 - change driver versions if you have much trouble with current driver

Installation
First remove all octane related stuff from plugins and main folder of Cinema4D.

Extract all files to Cinema4D\plugins\c4dOctane directory.
Also download manual.zip and extract to c4dOctane directory if it's not available in place.

There are a few files for each one is for different Cinema4D version. Remove all except the file is for your version.
Ex. if you have Cinema4D R18.0, keep only "c4dOctane-r18.cdl64" and delete c4dOctane-r17.cdl64, c4dOctane-r16.cdl64, c4dOctane-r15.cdl64, etc..

omg thanks!! Is the Windows subscription link correct? I guess it's downloading the OSX version :P

Hello aoktar, i've found inverted icons on the glossy and specular material.
The specular icon glossy, and the glossy icon specular.

Those are the updated icons. I think they should be switched as well.

Is it normal that if I activate AI Lights, my render is horribly noisy? Maybe i'm missing something else :(

Also, x-particles seems to be broken for some reason. If I use an emissive material with trails and xsplinemesher, the material flickers a LOT through the render. I'll submit a couple files later :P

Thanks for the release but I'm constantly getting CUDA related render failure on a simple scene.
I'm on Nvidia 397.93 version.

I tried your file and got the same result. I also tried to connect & delete the legos and that seemed to work, but that obviously negates any animation of the parts.
Also, I tried rendering with the standard render and no problems. I also tried rendering with Redshift and no problems. So it seems to be an Octane issue.
I hope someone can resolve this for you.
