Octane no longer works and wont upgrade

I booted up my computer for first time in a while and found octane stopped working entirely. I have tried to completely uninstall it and reinstall by deleting the directory Cinema4D\plugins\c4dOctane then reinstalling it in same place and it actually still has an old version number on it? this is really confusing. says its 3.05 when I installed 3.07 (fresh download from the site about 5min ago)

any ideas?

Open Script/Console window and check output. Don't check title of LV on saved to layout.

actually I found it in C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\MAXON\CINEMA 4D R18_62A5E681\plugins\c4doctane
and deleted it, then replaced with new files but now it won't open at all. I do see it in the menu for cinema 4d though.

I wouldn't mind just redoing it totally from scratch, but not sure all the places its stored.

one part that confused me was that it wanted me to "Run the installer and select the version of Cinema 4D" this isn't an option as I just get a zip file of the .cdl64 files and sub folders.

I have cinema 4d R18 and it was working fine until I tried to upgrade.

the path that the Cinema 4D provides via preferences is: C:\Users\lukasz\AppData\Roaming\MAXON\CINEMA 4D R18_62A5E681

and I have copied: c4dOctane-R18.cdl64, res, Libs300 all into this folder under plugins\c4doctane

also if it helps, I can see it in the menu now, however it doesn't show anything under it when I click it, its just an empty menu,

Requirements:
-You'll need to update your Cinema 4D to latest versions(R16.050, R17.053, R18.057, R19.053). Otherwise the plugin will not work and not appear in menus.
-Internet connection for activation, be sure that C4D and Octane will not be blocked by firewall and any antivirus software.
-Updated Nvidia drivers(most recents like 39x.x) with Cuda 9.1 - change driver versions if you have much trouble with current driver

yep everything is updated R19.053, drivers updated, internet connect. should all be good, but attached what I see. The login screen no longer shows up.

(just as an update, I even got the new version of cinema and still no luck)

Why are you trying to install the plugin in the 'Application Data'/'user preferences' folder? If that ever worked for you it's very unusual. Only in rare cases some plugins require installation in the application data folder and it's usually mentioned in their installation notes. The standard path is in the Cinema 4D program folder.

Anyway, below are the commonly known, standard plugin paths for Cinema 4D. Honestly, I'm very surprised that you didn't figure this out a month after starting this topic.

Windows
(system disk) /Program Files/MAXON/ (Cinema 4D version) /plugins

Osx
(system disk) /Applications/MAXON/ (Cinema 4D version) /plugins

To your defense, readme.txt file SHOULD mention these specific paths BUT IT DOES NOT. Especially considering the fact that we still have to install the plugin manually (and run the Standalone installer just because of the 'TDR delay' registry keys) even after all these years.
