Missing "Octane Properties" from right-click context menu

Hi there,

I recently discovered that "Octane Properties" is missing from my context menu when I right-click scene objects.

Any thoughts on why this might be happening, and how I can get it back? It's making it difficult to enable motion blur on a project I need to render today.

Thanks!

Britt

Hi brittnell,
strange this issue, never seen before.
Which 3dsMax version are you using?
Could you kindly try installing new 4.44 version and check if your issue is still there?

I'm running the latest version of Max (2018.4 Update).
I doubt I'll be able to get our IT dept. to install 4.44 today  , but once it is installed, I'll let you know how it goes.
In the meantime, I'll just have to handle motion blur in post.

Miraculously, I was able to get the latest version ("OctaneRender_for_3ds_Max_3.06.4_-_4.41") installed, but unfortunately, the problem persists.

Any other thoughts/suggestions?

:?

Hi brittnell,
Go to 'Customize User Interface' then click on the 'Quad' tab. Under 'Category' choose Octane then drag and drop each item into the panel at the bottom right.
If you do this just after you open max then save over your maxstart file then you won't have to repeat these steps again.

Yes, THANKS!

I've noticed Max to seemingly overwrite my preferences randomly, so actually did dig through the "Customize User Interface" settings, but didn't think to check if Octane had its own group outside of "Main UI". Doh!

Always learning... ;)
