VDB scaling and step length

Hi, i am abit confused about VDBs so i hope u clarify some of my questions.

Firstly i saw in some tuts, that i can scale VDBs in c4d's object mode. Is that a correct way of doing things or should i stick to vdb loader units setup (meters, decameters etc)?

Also, the quality (the voxels i see sometimes as pixels) are strictly related to step length and are not overall object size dependant?

thanks a lot

Without being specific to C4d, I can tell you that the step length is a fixed distance in meters, which is not affected by the volume's scale. We have experimented with having the step length be a ratio of some sort of the volume's size, but this doesn't work in a few cases.

However this has the effect that if you scale the volume, you must also scale the step length too.
