hi, i wonder if its possible to render (in the live viewer) only the matching area to the actual project ratio/size ? without messing with the Render Region option.
Beceause octane render the extra area on top and bottom for nothing, just wasting time...

Tick the "Lock Resolution" button and decrease the number that appears in the right side to scale down the resolution.

You deserve a cookie!
Its a bit laggy, cause when the window is resized, the value of the resolution change but it works.

I felt the same pain for quite some time because the extra picture in the live-viewer was driving me mad until I found that and now I never change it.
I try to follow this workflow for better performance:
- Half res or .5 for doing anything other than sampling or focusing on detail.
- full res + render region when focusing on detail or sampling areas.

You may also know this but for making long sequences with edits try to render a low res crappy render with everything you need on (motion blur and DOF included) to judge motion and flow because the viewport always lies even if you do a render previz.

Thanks for the advice! And yes i noticed the not accurate motion blur in the Live viewer so i render a tiny and short image/video to check that...
