Texture Emission + Gaussian + Volume medium

Hey all, image attached, just FYI. So i've been learning that Gaussian spectrum is significantly better at getting a more balanced look from a volume when dealing with a texture emission, I can't seem to get it to work, I only get a dull grey light.
How can I solve this?
