hi there,

i am having fun playing around with houdini and trying to figure out limitations of octane.

i managed to create an cloud object and it renders well, however cloud system rig does not show.
i tried to add octane params to it but no luck.

is there i way i can make octane see the cloud rig system?

best.

Hi,

The cloud rig objects are conventional Houdini volume objects, so they can be rendered as Octane volumes if you enable this option adding the Octane OBJ spare parameters.

Thanks,

Hmm, in any case, the volumes should be Houdini volume objects that can be rendered by the Octane plugin. Not the lights, or the environment, but the volumes should work.

If you want to share the scene, I can take a look at it here.

Thanks,

Hi,

The problem is that somehow in your scene the render output SOP is not connected to the volume VOP, so nothing is rendered. You need to connect it like you can see in the attached scene. Also be sure to disable the OpenVDB file option in the OBJ spare parameters.

Thanks,
-Juanjo
