Reflection become doubled in displacement area (see pict)

Hi, can you guys please look at this picture and tell me what you think could cause this?
Image

If I use Octane displacement, my reflection become doubled, blurred. If I use C4D displacement deformer, no problem, but the render take 800% more time.

Any idea what is causing this?

thanks

Hi CHLT,
have you checked the normal direction of the mesh?
ciao beppe

Hi Bepeg4d, no I didnt check. but the mesh is a simple plane... Could you point me how would you check the normals direction? I'm not sure if it would be in C4D mesh menu or in the Octane material...

I will search for it now.
thanks for taking the time to help me!

Update: Aligning the normals on the mesh and playing with normal channel dont fix it. However, I've found that if I lower the level of details of the displacement map to 2000x, the problem go away. However my edges are horrible... I need to use 8k to get good enough edges. The gaussian filter is not work at all on lower res... I got tons of small ugly lines in the displacement.

I will try to play with the map itself. Making it real floating 32bit Tiff. Now I use a PNG.

Using 32bit Tiff make matter worst:

I'm at maximum quality. 8K map, 8K resolution, no filters (they dont change anything).

I can't see linked images. Can you please attach images to your messages? Also attach a sample scene if it's possible.

Please don't use external links. No need that. Just use "Upload attachment" button while writing your messages and attach images.

Ha! thanks, I did not notice that button before...

Here the best image. You can see the double line in all my displacement. C4D Native give me perfect results with the same sources. Octane give me a doubled reflection whatever the format I use. Now I am using 4k with box blur at 4 to reduce the image doubling while keeping enough details in my displaced edges. At 8K, the edges are better but the reflection is unusable.

Very strange.
