Octane and Cinema 4D

Hello

I am running Octane V3 on a Mac with Cinema 4D R18.
I have a GTX Titan X card with 12gb
and a Dual 6 core Intel Xeon and 64gb ram.

Every now and again my Octane plugin freezes everything when I send the data to the render in the Live Window Viewer. Specifically when I press the send your scene button.

I generally have to force quit Cinema and start again. I have tried every approach to fixing the problem - including deleting elements and copying the scene into another file. All are not effective. It seems to be related to connecting to specifically sending data to the renderer.

Have you come across this before? I have also tried various versions of Octane Plugin and Octane Standalone. I am currently running the most recent stable release of both.

Regards

David

Hi David,
which Mac Pro exactly and which version of Os X are you using?
Do you have another GPU for the monitor or are you using the Titan X for both?
Could you share a bugreport.txt?
Are you using also Adobe CC apps or other CUDA software while working with c4doctane?
ciao beppe

Hi

Mac Pro (2010) running OS X El Capitan

Yes I have a second GPU which is a GeForce GT 120.

Currently I'm only using Cinema 4D while trying to fix this issue. I can use Adobe CC a bit, especially After Effects. But I find I need to clear the cache often.

Cheers

David

No message before freezing. I happens when you press the send button and then the lollypop of death starts spinning.

There is no fixed scene type that it happens in. It is consistently happening at the moment.

Cheers

Everything freezes - the only thing I can do is force quit the app.

I have tried a range of settings - none help. It just seems to be the uploading to render window.

So if I quit Cinema, open it an open the render window and send nothing - a blank scene it works. Then when I open any other scene and update the window the render starts.

I have tried this a few times - but there has to be a better solution

Ok! What's first messages about octane render in Console window when C4D loaded?
Pls post some screen shots from Console window and Settings/Devices and Settings/Other while all parameters visible.
Also open LV/Help/Octane Log and capture an image of that too.
