Simple World Space Gradient?

I'm just a few weeks into Octane, and as a seasoned C4D artist, I'm extremely humbled by the fact that I cant seem to accomplish what I'm sure is an incredibly easy task.
I simply want to use a world space linear gradient as an alpha (or opacity). I know Octane takes C4D gradient, but it seems the baking nature of it keeps it from respecting its world space capabilities. So going full Octane, using projection/transforms so I have space control, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to make a single stripe (barring a texture map which I feel I should have to resort to). Throwing sine waves in there that are inherently cyclical so that doesn't work for me. Ive attached a screen cap of the C4D setup I want to accomplish, only need to do so via Octane. Help a newbie out!
Thanks.
