Interactive rendering does not stop at given max preview samples. It contunues rendering as it was no limit set. (Release version – 11.20)

I experienced this too, especially in regards to border rendering, if I initiate a viewport preview render with border switched off then my render preview stops at the allotted number of samples.. However if I set border rendering then it overshoots the preview samples and carries on regardless. I can however switch on border after I have performed a preview render and it works as intended, stopping at allotted number of samples etc but if I toggle the border switch the problem returns. 3.05.3 - 11.21 might I add..

You are right Patrick... it does not stop only when a Border is ON in Dimensions settings. Is it that made on purpose?

I would expect this to be a bug? it is still present in the latest 3.05.3 / 11.22 releases..
