Hey Guys..

can anyone suggest a workflow/trick to fade a displacement effect near an edge?

I have a scene Im modeling and there is a road and the terrain surrounding it...i would like to apply displacement to the terrain to have a more irregualr shape, but where the terrain touches the road I wanna have it with no displacement or very little! is there a way to this procedurally? if not procedurally maybe some other way?

Nildo

P.s. ( if the octane will solve the problem with the facets that I think will be solved by itself the problem and displays the map)

Thanks mikinik and Goldisart..

I didn't know about that trick..it will come handy in another job, however my issue is a different one..please see picture...

i have ONE object with 2 materials a road and a terrain...i would love to have a smooth transition...or if not possible..hard one would also work for my purposes...
