We don't have support for XGEN yet! the script is pretty easy if you need to use now for a project my advise is use the brave rabbit script, here a video https://vimeo.com/25777315
I attach the script is pretty easy and straight forward. Or use spaint3d https://www.highend3d.com/maya/script/sppaint3d I also attach the script here
with this script you can have the same feel as xgen painting. maybe could help to
If you have a lot time you can wait for a solid support on Xgen but I think will take time for the guys to make work.
Best,
JO

MASH menu > Utilities > Switch MASH geometry types
MASH works well with Octane ! It's a good idea.
But It becomes a bit heavy and very slow every time you refresh your scene :/
It looks like Octane doesn't use the Maya particle instances and have to load everything as geometry..
Hope there will be an improvement in this direction

Hi.
I have a problem with the textures. The scene is simple; A sphere with a glossy material and a bump with marble texture. Any texture (procedural or bitmap) that is put in the bump gives the same result (bands in the sphere).
I have tried to re-map it, make a soften edge ... Nothing.
Please help.
Thanks!

we are running this plugin version and the latest standalone (tried various versions and combinations) but found an issue that forces maya to crash as soon as we enable certain bty passes such as "diffuse" for example. Even the most basic scene with just a sphere and it crashes in bot batch mode and UI mode. Funny enough, it actually renders and writes the frame and crashes at the end. But unfortunately it crashes in a way where maya batch doesnt notice
what happened and we dont get a maya exit code either way...
so that sucks if you are running stuff on a renderfarm because the render queue or even a cmd window doesnt know whats going on at the end and just sits there
need some help there asap. already submitted it with a test scene to help@
