The world's fastest and most feature-rich unbiased render engine that integrates completely into Autodesk® Maya®.

Maya® Version Requirements

This release will work with Maya® Versions 2015, 2016, 2016.5 and 2017 64-bit on MS Windows operating systems.

COMPATIBILITY AND OCTANERENDER STANDALONE REQUIREMENT

To run OctaneRender™ for Maya®, you need to also have an activated OctaneRender™ Standalone copy activated on the machine you wish to install the plugin onto.
You cannot purchase and use only the Maya plugin and use it without also owning an activated copy of OctaneRender™ Standalone on your machine.


CHANGES SINCE THE PREVIOUS VERSION
  • Implemented the full support of 3.X engine features.
  • Fixed some previously reported bugs.

Thanks,I have two renderfarms with lisence to output,and work on other machine with demo vison :)

Hi Jim and Kai, BK,

Thanks for the updates is pretty stable and is working my older scenes, personally we love this version cause is the same way as the OC2 plugs we don't have to training our team again, for this new way to workmade by kai before, for this would take us a huge time to get things right with our Light artists. Appreciate your work for that.

Just would be good to have a quick manual how to use Fluids with octaneVolumeMedium?

Also please let us know about support on XGEn, Bifrost, MASH and also a longtime a go I gave Kai the contacts of the guys from Ephere for Ornatrix they was pretty motivated to add a support for Octane.

Will 3.x go forward with this 2.x based branch dropping the node based one?
How can I set it to render to texture?

Hi Guys,

Quick question the medium nodes doesn't work with octaneSunSky when I try to plug "out medium" I'm not aloud but the "scattering" is connecting but not working.
Could you send something about this, like how to use.

Same for mesh or fluids...I guess is not finish... other option so far is working Portal lights is a bug in the actual standalone., I think would be fix next realease.
