Hi,

I wish to Clone objects and have the texture for each element to be random.
I have tried using Gradient and Random color in diffuse but it is not really working, doesn't appear when rendering....what I am missing???
I have managed to make it work when I use particles with the octane render tags...

Thanks for the help.

Stefano

Mg colors work on non-render instances.
Octane randomcolor works on render instances.
Find octane sample scenes from release threads.

This is a two year old topic. Could you explain what are you trying to say?

So anyone have a quick fix for this? I usually would make a multi colour material, but octane textures behave differently and can't figure this out.

Hi,
to avoid confusion, please always post some screenshots of what you want to achieve, and what you are having now, thanks.

In general, Octane Random Color node works only if Render Instance option is active.
On the other side, C4D MoGraph Color node work only if Render Instance option is disabled.

If you need to use textures instead of colors, you need to use an Octane Gradient node, with Random Color as input texture, and the mode set to Complex.
Look at the end of this page:
