A - Win 8.1
B - TITAN X, 2 x 980ti
C - 64GB
D - 372.70
E - >3.03.4
F - >3.03.4
G - 17.053

----------
KiNDOFFUNKY.jpg
If I load a texture in FILE (2) the AMOUNT (1) instantly drops to zero, and then when entering a number in the AMOUNT, as soon as I hit enter, the texture unloads itself.
Similarly with Volumes when loading something in Absorption/Scattering/Emission, the DENSITY drops to 0.00001. And if raising the value, whatever you just loaded simply unloads itself.

When trying to save an image from live view, nothing happens

----------

Saving a Mix Material to the content browser doesn’t work

----------

Renaming an octane material causes the material preview to re-render

----------

There's a lot missing in the documentation

----------

Octane doesn’t seem to produce a correct straight alpha channel

Example TFD sim
One rendered with Octane and one with Arnold

Now if I put Arnold on top I get correct result

But if I put Octane on top I get this white fringe/halo-thing

Hi preciousillusion,
sorry but, in my opinion, none of what you have shown is a c4dOctane bug.
1. the good news is that Cinema4 R18 doen't have any issue with sliders, the bad news, especially for Ahmet that has spent a lot of time trying to find a workaround, is the issue comes from c4d SDK.
2. the scene is correctly loaded in Live viewer? otherwise there is nothing that could be saved... by the way, the screenshot is from 3.03.3-R1
3. mix material in content browser is a limitation not a bug, it depends from c4d itself.
4. re-render the preview material while updating the name it gives you issues?
5. sorry, we are aware that the documentation is not perfect and we are trying to update it when possible but is not easy as it seems.
6. sorry but the vdb test it doesn't have much sense to me  the octane material is completely different with far low density
in the camera imager you have several options about Alpha channel, one of them is "Disable partial alpha", give it a try ;)
ciao beppe

Then why does it only happen with Octane? And the sliders aren't the biggest problem, whatever slot that got cleared usually takes a bit longer to recreate..

It didn't work on 3.03.3-R1, it doesn't work on any V3. Well if it renders I guess it's correctly loaded?

3. mix material in content browser is a limitation not a bug, it depends from c4d itself.
Then I'll add that to the list of reasons why mix materials are such a bad idea to begin with.

4. re-render the preview material while updating the name it gives you issues?
Well maybe it's more of an annoyance as it sometimes takes a while..

5. sorry, we are aware that the documentation is not perfect and we are trying to update it when possible but is not easy as it seems.
A couple of months ago it was said that it would "soon be finished", which of course isn't an excuse for not having it ready with the V3 release.
If you go buy let's say a car, would you accept that the owners manual is only half-finished, and maybe the spare tire is missing?

Ok, I'll try that
