Set up two specular materials, one rough one smooth, put them in a mix material and use a gradient in the texture slot to mix between the two.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

Default specular material with a gradient PNG loaded in the Transparency alpha channel works pretty well too.

I would try a mix material setup, works wonders, and you can adjust the slope accordingly real time

That's very clever, thanks !

I get that result however, no gradient effect...
What did I do wrong ?

Hi aquelito,
what happen if you rotate the camera around the material-ball object?
Do you see the gradient?

Hi Bepe

This is what I get : apparently no gradient is showing up :(

Hi,
check the Saw wave node projection, probably the issue is there

Whersmy, could you please share the .ocs file ? I cannot get it to work, even with Beppe advice...
