Hello everyone!
I am the new developer of the 3dsMax plugin.
I have a background in video game, rendering, 3d engines, tools, and I'm beginning to get familiar with the Octane plugin.
My current goal is to have the V1 and V2 materials loaded without the need of a converter.
I'll keep releasing updates following Octane core updates, and of course will try to address the issues you can have.
Problem reproduction is the key to bug fixing, so the more 'broken max files' I'll get from you, the more happy I am !
I'll try to add more ways to diagnostic issues, via logfile, dialog messages to help us communicate on the problems detail.
Thanks.

Hi neon welcome to the max community,
My current goal is to have the V1 and V2 materials loaded without the need of a converter.
Awesome news and this is the best news since looooong time... I hope you really can solve the compatible issue.. and btw, it's not v1 to v2, it's from 2.23.2-1.9 to 2.3(currently this is the most important problem to keep me and many people away from 2.3 to 3.x)
Thanks again
Shane

Welcome Neon!
How familiar you are with 3ds Max? Have you used it before?
I'm asking cause writing the plugin is not all about the tech and code, but you would need to understand the workflows also.

would be awesome to see automatic material conversion, since we can't transfer to new octane version due to extreme usage of past projects

The manual is a priority, particularly short video tutorials for VDBs, volume rendering, etc - please PM me or neon with any comments or suggestions on the manual - thank you
