im pretty disheartened by the lack of support.

let me try and elaborate for the hell of it:

when i have scanline selected as render engine, adding render elements results in crashing.
it happens every single time and according to my crash logs they are produced by octane.

max 2017 sp2 and octane 3.17

Hi,

Apologies for the belated response. We have been working towards building up additional resources and manpower to improve user satisfaction with Octane for 3ds Max. Sadly, forum-based support has slowed, and that must be amended urgently.

We will attempt to duplicate this issue on our end, and supply a fix for an upcoming build. If we are unable to duplicate on our end, we may require more information from you regarding your scene setup

Hi crackfox,
I verified and reproduced the issue you had.
I sent a file with the issue to developers Octane 3ds max plugin.
Thanks for your contribution.

Paride

Hi crackfox,
The issue will be fix in next release, 4.22
It happens when Octane is not set as the renderer;
the work arounds until release are:
-disable / uninstall Octane [ rename /delete Octane3dsmax.dlr from the plugins folder]
-set octane as the renderer
