[OCT 3.x] Minor & Major issues of OCTANE for 3ds Max

Issues for OCTANE 3.03:

1. Crash when Normal bitmap has UV channel other than 1
2. All versions of OCTANE - sometimes picking map in Material Editor taking FOREVER - like 2-3 minutes of waiting until Map list appear - it's really annoying!

I'll add more if I spot something.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting.

The second bug in particular sounds quite extreme. If I am unable to duplicate the issue, I will come back to this post with further questions about your setup.

Bumping up this topic.

Waiting foe Material/Map Browser is taking from 2 to 5 minutes (!!!).

This happens only once (bringing Browser first time) per 3ds Max session.

Can you investigate what is the reason?
Do other users experince the same issue?

Guys from OTOY,

I'm getting REALLY frustrated and annoyed by the lack of your response.

My problem with Material Browser still persist, its related with number of materials in scene.
The bigger amount of materials the longer time I have to wait.

With 3 Combo Licenses of OCTANE I'm feeling really ignored.
Do you have any support here?

Quite the same here.
Opening material editor can take many many times, and when having a multi subobject shader i just go make some coffee ...

Hi all,
in reference to the post:
viewtopic.php?f=80&t=57079&start=20#p293499
I do not know if this Envrironment slot material issue is related to the plugin version.
Could you tell me your gpu used and nvidia drivers?
Did you change GPU between 4:21 and 4:22?
Thanks
Regards

This problem is STILL not adressed.
Sometimes with larger amount of materials I have to wait 15 minutes (!!!!!) to Material Browser show up!

My setup (problem persists on all my three computers):

Intel Xeon 920 @ 3,6GHz
ASUS Rampage Extreme II Motherboard
24 GB of RAM
3x GTX 1070 Hybrid

Intel Core i7 960 @ 3,6GHz
ASUS P6T7 WS Supercomputer
24 GB of RAM
GTX 980Ti + 3 x GTX 780

Intel Core i5 Lynnfield @ 2,8 GHz
ASUS P7P55 WS Supercomputer
16 GB of RAM
4 x GTX 780

Please fix this issue, because it makes your software unusable for really serious work.

Hi kcpr-raffaEl,
Do you have HDRIs and/or environment maps in your material editor? Are they on a local drive?
Did you try to "Enable Texture environment Preview" option?

OK, here is what i managed to check:

- all images are on local drives
- there are HDRI images also
- problem raises when in Material Browser is open additional library with many materials
- as higher number of materials - the longer time of waiting is needed

But this issue doesn't show up all the times, I'm trying to specify the circumstances when it appears.
