Hi to all!
I begin with my first test and I have the first problem..

Ok, I've tried the test on my old scene, all materials are Phong with texture and uv assigned, but when I export fron SI 2 OC this is the result:

it must have something with units. You didnt import right in octane. Check your working units. If you draw in meters in your modeling software then select meters in octane object mesh import ! I hope that this will help you.

Hi Necko!

In Si I work with Si unit (1 Si unit = 10 cm).
In the PPG Octane Export, the mesh unit is on the cm, instead, on octan property the unit is a default, meter to meter.

I've tried another way, to export the obj file and import to Octane but the result is the same.

tnx for your reply!!

i export from archicad to blender (when i do it i have to resize it in blender, i scale up model 100 times up) then in blender i export from meters.
In octane i have selected meteres and everything works great. Can you send me that model. I could import it in blender and try. You can export it as 3ds and upload it to some share service or if file is smaller you can send it to [email protected]
I had similar problems last night only cos i had wrong units selected in octane. Point is to mach scale in octane like it is in your 3d modeler aplication.
try to put cm in octane
u can try with simplier scene, sraw box, texture it and try different scale (meters, cm, mm...)
if problem persisit then some other problem that could be :)

OK!
I can sand you the scene, in obj format or fbx, but only in afternoon.
But is heavy scene! :)

In which unit you model is uninteresting.
It´s only used to manage the units so that you not must type 0.001 but 1.0.
Max, Maya or Softimage generate the same obj-file, whatever your modelling unit is.

You can model in mm and your scene has at the greatest dimension 1mio mm, to switch to mm isn´t the solution.
Means, the overall size of 1000mm or 1m is the same, but the use mm or m as export unit size make a difference.

You must know the overall size of the scene.
Is the scene all in all maybe 100 meters, you should switch to hectometers.
The base of this calculation is, that one Si-unit is 1meter.

As help, you can make a simple box around your scene and read the position of each point to calculate the dimension.
