We want to see volume light but we get just fog. How can we create it? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
When will we see a solid Octane 3 manual with good examples how to use it?

We are working on some more info for the manual. For now, please refer to this thread,
viewtopic.php?f=27&t=54404&start=10 - I see that you have already posted there. We are working on some tutorials to get this cleared up and easier to use.

The medium through daylight is not even working for me, i still use the old way with the sphere

I think the problem is likely the Medium Radius on the Daylight Environment - the environment medium is basically implemented like a sphere around the camera anyway, so you need to set some Medium Radius for the sphere that works for you. Please let me know if that still doesn't solve the problem

it did thank you. So if my scene is 1 mile by 1 mile terrain with trees, objects etc should I set medium radius to 1000?
Thanks

Yes I think that makes sense - if you don't need fog beyond a certain distance, then you can decrease the radius

Hi haze, by the way that sphere is actually casting a shadow. Sometimes a rather HUGE shadow across the whole scene.
(Orbx is from 3.03.1, you'll have to uncheck invert absorbtion in 3.03.2)

We did not see a solid Octane 1 manual, and Otoy promised one for v2.
we did not see a solid Octane 2 manual, and Otoy promised one for v3.
Do you still believe, we will see a solid Octane 3 manual?

Lol. My manual became a forum trying to find out as much as I can. There still tons of new buttons I have no idea what they do in ver 3

@haze
My problem still persists. Can u upload a simple scene for me without any sphere (old method) just with the medium environment proper setup? It just doesnt work here.
Make a plane with teapots, use some logical sizes and send me the file to see if my octane version has a problem or if im doing something wrong. ty
ps. 3ds max scene not standalone.
