Hi, i'm new using Octane and i've an issue. I've an imac with Yosemite 10.10.1 and my graphic card is an NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M. I'm using Cinema 4D R16 and when I installed the plugin CUDA Driver Version: 7.5.29 to use OCTANE (demo version) it shows this message or error ¨RENDER FAILURE!!! CHECK CONSOLE WINDOW OR LOG OCTANE WINDOW ". I don't know how to resolve this problem, please help.

Hi guys,
I guess you have not enough VRAM :(
unfortunately 640M is not a powerful GPU and in your case is already taxed by the monitor, leaving only few space to work with Octane. An alternative solution could be to use the Thunderbolt port for external GPUs dedicated to Octane only, while using the internal GPU only for system and monitor.
Here is a long discussion about this argument:

Nobody answers here? What a bad support...

Same issue here (and many others that makes me thinking about moving to another render)

Please check render statistics to solve the problem.

Free VRAM is too low!
Try to decrease polygon counts and use out-of-core for textures.
Use 'render instances' when it's possible.'

Hi davidro,
sorry to hear that you are having issues with c4doctane.
In your case, if you read frough the error message, you can see that you have reached the limit of your system with 4GB of VRAM.
With more than 11 million polys and assets, the scene is taking more than 3GB, and you have only 9MB free, because 904MB are used by system and monitor.
As also said buy the log:
Free VRAM is too low!
Try to decrease polygon counts and use out-of-core for textures.
Use 'render instances' when it's possible.'
Or switch to another GPU with more VRAM.
