voxel effect with octane scatter?

Hi,
maybe someone gets the idear?
I want to recreate the typical "voxel" effect which you can do
in C4D with voxel-plugin or with cloner and volume-effector.
But with tons of cloned cubes C4D cannot handle it and octane scatter is way faster.
Is there a way to do this effect (straight oriented cloned cubes) with octane scatter?
I get them oriented the same direction, but the cubes are overlapping and there are large
and irregular gaps between the cubes.
Also I tried to use the volume-effector with octane scatter without success.
Is this possible?
thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
I have just tried with this setup and it seems to work well with Octane:
https://cgtools.com/voxel-effect/
It's free, it's not a plugin but an xpresso setup and you need to use an Octane material:

thanks beppe,
I know this tool but tried to do this with octane scatter.
Just wanted to know if it is possible or if I'm just missing something.
Anyway, I already did it with one of the available voxel tools.
thanks

Hey,
so lately i played around with the scatter object as well and i cam to something like this:

the only thing you could do to achieve this kind of voxel look is by projecting your "clones" onto a clean quad mesh.
thats what i did, its just a plane with a lot of subdivisions and the scatter is distribution the objects per vertex.
i tried it with a sphere as well. limitation will be organic and irregular meshes i guess.

wow, I remember this render on facebook, very well done jopfe

hmmm,
but if you project the clones onto a plane and scatter them via
a vertexmap, how do you get them stacked on each other.
I mean how do you get the depth?
thansk

jopfe, could You be a little bit more specific on this? This technique is very intriguing,
and Your render brilliant. I would really like to know how to achieve something simiar.
Cheers,
